Being Part of a Crew, with KPMG Golf, Iditarod and OTEK.tv
About The Project
As Shoreline Media or working with a myriad of colleagues in the video production industry, one quality has been central to my success – being a collaborative team player.
My background in local television advertising taught me early on that video production is inherently multi-disciplinary. In this industry, you typically specialize in one role and that’s all. During my years working In local television, I learned many. From scriptwriting, client & project management, cinematography, and graphics design to video editing. I started in the era of analog tape-to-tape editing, then honed my skills in the Apple Macintosh environment, as the industry moved to computer-based workflows and Final Cut Pro became the speediest full-featured editing program in the industry.
Today, larger scale network based editing has become something I’ve learned from Art Aldrich at Otek.TV and has been my role during many Women’s PGA events with KPMG and their editing team. We had one media server hosting multiple Final Cut Pro edit stations so they could work seamlessly from ONE master batch of video at the same time. Art’s taught me the ins and outs of many production skills over the years and I’m grateful for his friendship, mentorship and Jeeps, grilling & tequila knowledge! Working together has taken us to Alaska’s Iditarod Dog-Sled Race, across the country with KPMG Sports Marketing, and to Vermont, Maine and MOAB to drive Jeeps, shooting video and flying drones along the way.
One skill remains at the center of my media career – being able to do many things and adapt where needed. Within a small crew that’s paramount, so you all can have each other’s backs. Be a collaborative team player, it keeps clients and friends coming back for more.
